A moment not too soon,
A moment not too late,
And he sat there beneath the moon,
Wishing her Happy Birthday.
There he sat with his Wife in hand,
Handing her a box without a name,
Green ribbons and pink wrapper,
Indeed those are their favorite colours.
The wrapper was ripped,
The box was opened,
The present was revealed,
The Wife was stunned.
The diamond ring is now in her hand,
Shining brightly as the stars in the sky,
Her face was shocked,
Her look was priceless,
And the Husband says “Happy Birthday”
Tears on her cheeks,
Smile on her face,
And there she says
“Diamond ring was never the present.
Yet my dear Husband, you are the true gift
The true present.
